Shanti Morell-Hart

Mallory Matsumoto, Brown University

             Shanti Morell-Hart is Associate Professor of Anthropology at McMaster University, and is a founding co-editor of the journal Archaeology of Food and Foodways. She is a specialist in paleoethnobotanical methods and is founder and director of the McMaster Paleoethnobotanical Research Facility (MPERF), funded by the Canada Foundation for Innovation. Currently, she is engaged in research in Mexico (Chiapas, Oaxaca, and Quintana Roo), Honduras, and Guatemala. She is co-editor of the forthcoming book Mezquite Pods to Mezcal: 4,000 Years of Oaxacan Cuisines with Verónica Pérez Rodríguez and Stacie M. King.
