Proyecto Arqueológico El Tintal

Mary Jane is a Guatemalan-American archaeologist with research experience at different sites in Petén, including El Perú-Waka’, La Corona, and El Achiotal. In 2014 she began investigations at El Tintal as director of the Proyecto Arqueológico El Tintal, comprised primarily of Guatemalan archaeologists. She received her Licenciatura degree in Archaeology from San Carlos University in Guatemala in 2005, a Master’s in Latin American Studies from the University of Texas at Austin in 2007, and a PhD in Anthropology from Washington University in St. Louis in 2013.
