CONFERENCE HISTORY
What began as way to bring experts in Maya studies to local high school students has turned into one of the most iconic and attended events focused on Maya research. To date, AFAR has successfully hosted twenty-five Maya conferences; bringing together hundreds of Maya experts and enthusiasts. We are proud of our programming and consider it second to none but our conference family has given our conferences the strong heartbeat that make them so special. We tip our grateful hat to all of the participants that we’ve collaborated through the years to generate, what we believe to be, the best show in science. Below you will find summaries of each of our conferences as well as information on each of our Lifetime Achievement Award winners.
